My Two Cents on Lebanon
It never ceases to amaze me that the readers who have the most critical things to say don't have the guts to say it in the comments section and find it necessary to send me long-winded e-mails about how wrong I am.
I recently received an e-mail from someone named "TIM".
"TIM" had this to say,
"Since you're such a know-it-all b****, I'm surprized you haven't had anything to say about what is going on with Israel and Lebanon. What do you think of your precious president now?"
Hmmm....well, TIM. I must say that your comment is about as intelligent as John Kerry's quote last week regarding the same issue. John Kerry said, "If I was president, this wouldn't have happened."
So, let's just have a quick history lesson on Lebanon and a little bit about the office of the President of the United States and get it over with. You can have my two cents (which is worth about a penny).
Pay attention - I'm only going over this once.
1. George Bush is the President of the United States. George Bush is not the President of Israel or Lebanon.
2. John Kerry was (at least as far as I know) running for the office of President of the United States. He was NOT (at least as far as I know) running for the office of President of Lebanon or Israel.
3. Last week John Kerry (and the other democraps) was also talking about how President Bush oversteps his authority. You can't have it both ways. Either he's thumbing his nose at the "rules" and doing too much, or he's not doing enough.
4. What democrap ever resolved a conflict ANYWHERE in the world, anyway?
5. Lebanon has never had control of its own government. The first smart thing they've done in a very long time was get Syria out of there, but even that only happened because Syria knew the U.S. is behind them.
Lebanon has allowed terrorists to be elected into their government offices. Let me give you an analogy. Say..... a known member of Al Qaeda - or make it about 5 known members of Al Qaeda ran for seats in the Senate and we, as voters, as well as our government watchdogs allowed them to become valid members of our government. Would we not, then, be S.O.L. when they started dropping bombs on people they didn't like? Because seriously, folks...Lebanon allowed terrorists into their government. Even Nostradamus could have predicted this one.
6. Israel is not always the victim. Sometimes the victim....most of the time the whiner, yes...but they haven't ALWAYS been the victim, but this time....they are absolutely within their rights. You step onto my property and grab one of my kids - guess what??? I'm coming after you and I'm loaded for bear! And if you ask me, it's about time Israel quit whining about it and started kicking some ars. Good for them.
Now...to recap...the President of the United States does not run Lebanon or Israel. Evidently terrorists run Lebanon. Terrorists attacked Israel. Israel is mad as hell and isn't going to take it anymore. The President of the United States is under no obligation to assist a virtually terrorist overthrown government when what they have done is WRONG. In fact, most reasonable minded people would agree that assisting them would be WRONG. Lebanon needs to get their crap together and get their government back.
There will be a quiz later.

No matter what Israel or the US does, we're the bad guys. Don't sympathize with the ones who are attacked, sympathize with the enemy - that's the true liberal motto.
